Pre-release notice · 18 October 2026

Doppel City is being prepared for release. This notice describes the current development game. We will update it with the production services, retention periods and privacy controls before public release. The waitlist has a separate privacy notice.

Who runs the game

Mates Rates Services Pty Ltd, based in Australia, runs Doppel City. For privacy questions, access, correction or deletion requests, email social@unsupervisedgames.com.

Your player and town

Creating a player sends your chosen character name and appearance to the game server. Your account can hold up to ten residents. Creating or editing your cast sends each resident’s name, appearance and personality settings, including any starting family, friend or rival labels you choose. These are game settings, not uploaded contacts. The server assigns a player identifier and stores your cast, town, relationships, decorations, coins, choices, presence and away recaps. These records let the town continue while you are away and show you what happened when you return.

Your device stores a session credential so you can return to your player, along with pending choices and recap progress. Treat this credential like a password. Clearing browser or app storage can remove your access to that player; it does not delete the server records.

The development game also records play events, including sessions, recap starts, completions and skips, and voluntary “That made me laugh” feedback, linked to your player. These help us understand whether the return loop works. The on-screen performance display measures rendering locally.

Names and other players

Use a fictional character name, not private information. The development invitation feature can place players in the same town, where resident names, appearances, personality settings and shared town events are visible to those players. Keep invitation links private. Social features available at release will be described here before they open.

Recaps and AI

The simulation decides what happens. The current game uses authored recap sentences. Its default server does not send those recaps to an external AI service.

An optional development narrator can send event identifiers and candidate recap sentences, including character names, to OpenRouter and a model provider. That option is not cleared for public use. Before enabling external AI for players, we must identify the providers and their data practices, explain what is sent, and obtain permission before sharing personal data. Authored recaps remain available without that option.

Devices, payments and advertising

The v1 mobile release is planned without in-app purchases, advertising, voice input or photo uploads. The current game does not request camera, microphone or location access. Website waitlist information is handled separately. Any web purchase service will need its own payment and privacy information before it opens.

Retention and deletion

Development player records currently remain on the development server; automatic expiry and account deletion are not yet implemented. Contact us about a development player at social@unsupervisedgames.com. See player data and deletion for what to include. Do not send a session credential.

Public release requires a verified deletion process, defined retention periods, and disclosure of production hosting, database, logging, backup and any AI providers, including overseas processing. This pre-release notice does not certify those unfinished controls.

Age and your choices

Doppel City is intended for people aged 13 and over. Do not enter another person’s private information. Contact us to ask about your data or raise a concern. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or your local privacy authority.
